What To Grow In Your Fall AZ Garden

Now that your garden is prepped for fall (see our article here), it is time to start planting your cool weather crops! Crops that do well during the fall & winter in Arizona include any leafy vegetables (spinach, lettuce, cabbage) and root vegetables (carrots, beets, radishes).  We have been planting most of our seeds this week and will finish this weekend.  We originally planned on planting last weekend (9/18), but the record temperatures were still much too warm.  It is important to get your seeds planted sooner rather than later. Since seeds will not sprout for many reasons, this will give you ample time to fill in any empty spaces with extra seeds and have a full crop.
